Green Energy, Environmental & Building Science (GEEBS)  

 

The research focuses on sustainable built environment design through the integration of green building principles, passive design strategies, and innovative technologies to enhance building performance and energy efficiency. Key research areas include daylighting strategies, natural ventilation and passive cooling techniques, thermal performance, sustainable building materials, and environmentally responsible construction practices. The research also encompasses building retrofitting approaches to improve the performance of existing buildings, as well as the application of building performance simulation to evaluate and optimise environmental, energy, and thermal efficiency.

In addition, the research investigates environmental design and planning strategies that contribute to creating healthy, comfortable, and conducive living environments. Particular emphasis is placed on environmental behaviour, environmental psychology, and human well-being, examining the interactions between people and the built environment to support sustainable, inclusive, and user-centred design solutions. The research aims to provide practical design frameworks and evidence-based strategies that promote environmental sustainability, occupant comfort, and quality of life across diverse building and urban contexts.
