Urban Design & Environmental Research Group
The Urban Design and Environmental Studies Research Group (UDE), established on 8 July 2020, is a multidisciplinary research team dedicated to advancing sustainable, livable, and culturally responsive urban environments. Anchored within the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FABU), UDE focuses on key themes including urban design and environmental quality, human settlement science (ekistics), smart city development, and cultural heritage management. The group comprises experts in urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, rural studies, and cultural landscapes. UDE actively engages in collaborative research, policy advising, and community-based initiatives to address emerging urban challenges in Malaysia and beyond.
