Possible Future Studio

Designing a building takes a lot of consideration, especially when trying to improve on the concept as well as the intention of the design. This semester which was speculative studio teaches one to be more aware of not choosing sides. The design was to be not only universal in terms of the exterior facade but rather focus more on the interior as well as the intention of spaces that had been integrated. One realizes that we shouldn’t pick sides knowing that both sides are true. In others words, you can be both if the intentions benefit the users.

The flow of progress was rather slow, but the crucial thing that one can learn is that learning in design is never a rush. It will be in the future, but now is the time to make mistakes and learn to be braver when it comes to standing up for your ideas that had been proposed. The fun thing about architecture is the subjective aspect whereby you can argue to the judges/lecturer/critics and tell them this idea is workable and it’s an idea that is worth exploring. Just make sure there is a reason for every aspect of the design implemented.

Is my design is the best? no. I realize that trying new things is best rather than trying to impress people that are most probably not going to be impressed by anything you do in life. So that being said, one should focus on oneself and this is not an act of being ignorant or selfish but rather to be more self-caring and self-love. Because at the end of the day, you need your own intuition and positivity to push yourself up rather than moping about and drown in your own misery.
