Defending local culture in Architecture

So what I have observed and compared between traditional architecture and modern architecture is basically the difference in form, material, space designing, and other elements. This is all based on my observation, so don’t quote me based on this post. If I said something wrong, please correct me in any way possible.

Traditional architecture is more focused on beauty and meaning in each of it’s design. Not saying that modern architecture has no meaning in it’s design, but traditional architecture is more towards carvings, and form making that can be something akin to poetry. Each carving has different meanings, where it either represents awe in natural surroundings like the carving of flora and fauna. Or to give a sense of deep fear and respect , like the shape of a big column with rigid carvings on it. Even the statues during ancient Greece has its own form to it that seems as if it will come to life.

There is a huge difference in modern architecture though, where there is not many carvings and artistic value to the face of buildings. The meta for modern architecture is leaning more towards simplicity and a more minimalistic view. The artistic value of traditional buildings are in the decline due to this sort of architecture being widely used and spread.
