{"id":15657,"date":"2014-12-16T12:04:26","date_gmt":"2014-12-16T04:04:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/builtsurvey.utm.my\/facelift\/?p=15657"},"modified":"2014-12-16T12:04:26","modified_gmt":"2014-12-16T04:04:26","slug":"urban-and-regional-planning-students-wins-habitat-competition-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/builtsurvey.utm.my\/facelift\/2014\/12\/16\/urban-and-regional-planning-students-wins-habitat-competition-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Urban and Regional Planning Students, FAB Win Habitat Competition 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/builtsurvey.utm.my\/facelift\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/235\/files\/2014\/12\/habitat2014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15659\" src=\"https:\/\/builtsurvey.utm.my\/facelift\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/235\/files\/2014\/12\/habitat2014.jpg\" alt=\"habitat2014\" width=\"561\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Two (2) groups of Third Year Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning students, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, won the First and Second prize in the final competition, \u201cProblem Analysis of Habitat Scenario 2014\u201d organised by the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government.\u00a0 The competition was held at the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development on 4<sup>th<\/sup> December 2014 in conjunction with \u201cWorld Habitat Day 2014\u201d with the theme \u2018Social Urbanism\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This yearly event saw participation in three (3) categories, Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary and Public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA).\u00a0 Eighty seven (87) groups from all IPTA in Malaysia took part in the competition and only three (3) groups from the IPTA category was selected to proceed to the final round, two (2) groups from UTM and 1 group from UiTM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The winner of the first prize with the scenario title \u2018Effect of Urban Migration\u2019 received a cheque of RM5,000.00 and certificate and the second prize winner with the title \u2018Urban Poverty\u2019 received a cheque of RM3,000.00 and certificate. Winners of the competition received their prizes from YBhg.
