{"id":18138,"date":"2010-08-24T13:55:23","date_gmt":"2010-08-24T05:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.utm.my\/fab2\/?p=1637"},"modified":"2010-08-24T13:55:23","modified_gmt":"2010-08-24T05:55:23","slug":"iftar-ramadan-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/builtsurvey.utm.my\/fabu2024\/iftar-ramadan-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Iftar Ramadan 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In conjunction with the celebration of the holy month, Ramadan, on 13th August 2010, the Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment, UTM held its 2010 Iftar, successfully organized in collaboration with EARTH society. \u00a0The Iftar was held to also inculcate the spirit of togetherness among the students and the landscape staff within the department and landscape community. The event started at 6.45 pm whereby all guests were gathered at Block B11 Gallery Hall. While waiting to break fast, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Zin bin Kandar delivered a short \u2018tazkirah\u2019 regarding\u00a0 \u201cFasting and Ramadan\u201d.<br \/>\nThe Break Fast was initiated at 7.19 pm when all guests were served dates and \u2018bubur lambuk\u2019 (porridge) before the main course which is the awaited dish, Mak Jah\u2019s Nasi Briyani, from Kempas. All students and Iftar\u2019s Committee members worked hand in hand in making this event successful. The brisk but interesting event provided an insight regarding Malaysian culture and Muslim events for the international students. The delicious food and the events went smoothly as planned.
