UTM Participated in 4th FIG Young Surveyors Asia Pacific Meeting

Seoul, 8 – 10 November 2023 – Two researchers from the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FABU) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) recently took part in an international conference organized by the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) – Young Surveyors Asia & the Pacific Network. The 4th Young Surveyors Asia & the Pacific Meeting (#4YSAPM) was held this year, in conjunction with Smart Geo Expo 2023 (SGE2023), with the theme “Geo-Revolution, Better Life for All”. The event took place from November 8th to November 10th, 2023, at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) in Goyang-si, South Korea.

5th International Workshop on Asian Heritage (IWAH) 2023

Thirteen (13) Landscape Architecture students from the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FBES) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) took part in the 5th International Workshop on Asian Heritage (IWAH) 2023 at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, Vietnam, from November 27 to 30, 2023. Coordinated by Dr. Lee Yoke Lai and Dr. Mohd Ruzaini Bin Che Zahari, UTM delegates played a key role in workshop preparation, activities, lectures, and final report evaluation. IWAH 2023, a collaborative effort by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), and Mahasarakham University (MSU), aimed to foster a network among Southeast Asian delegates, exchanging ideas and developing urban heritage wisdom.

Synergistic Collaboration : MSSA OIC 2023

The UTM team from the Architecture program in the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, along with the Faculty of Civil Engineering, displayed remarkable collaboration and expertise, garnering recognition and honor at the MSSA OIC competition. In the MSSA-OIC 2023 competition, three teams from UTM have been shortlisted as finalists. The finalist presentation took place on November 16, 2023 (Thursday) at the MITEC Complex (Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Center) @ KL Metropolis, while the Award Ceremony was held on November 17, 2023 (Friday). The award ceremony, held on November 19, 2023, at MITEC Kuala Lumpur, celebrated the outstanding achievements and hard work of these talented individuals. UTM Hosts CIDB Seminar: Exploring Building Contracts in 2022

10 October, 2023  – In a bid to revolutionize the construction sector, the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has announced a strategic collaboration with the Department of Quantity Surveying, Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FABU) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to host a seminar on the amended CIDB Form of Contract for Building Works 2022. The main key agenda of the event was to introduce the CIDB Standard Form of Contract for Building Works 2022 Amendments. The seminar also welcomed industry insights and opinion on the perceived challenges for the new amendment.
