A group of students from Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning and Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia won the second prize in the final competition “Analysis of Habitat Scenario 2015: Quality of Life in the Low Cost Housing”, organized by the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government. The competition was held at One City Mall, Subang Jaya on 4th October 2015 in conjunction with “World Habitat Day 2015”.

This annual event saw participation in three categories, Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary and Public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA). Ten (10) groups from IPTAs in Malaysia took part in the competition, with only four (4) groups from the IPTA category were selected to the final competition i.e  two (2) group from UTM, 1 group from UiTM and 1 group from UKM.

The second prize winning team from UTM – C (Ms. Ellida Samsudin, Mr. Mohamad Firdaus Maarof and Mr. Muhammed Haire Idzahar) received a cheque worth RM3,000.00 and certificates, while the team of UTM – A (Mr. Mohd. Norisyam Hashim, Mr. Zul Waqar Khasbollah, Mr. Muzahafar Mokhtar and Mr. Al-Haziq Abd. Sallam) secured the 4th place and received certificates and token of appreciations. The prizes were presented by YBhg. Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister.
